Rain, Rain, Go Away, come again another day!  Any day but my wedding day!

You have been planning this day since you were six.  Everything has been confirmed, reconfirmed and paid for.  You have done everything you can do to ensure that your wedding day is going to be just perfect, but when you wake up on you wedding day it is raining.  This is not the end of the world.  Rain on your wedding day is not always as bad as it first seems.   Rainy wedding days do not have to be your worst nightmare comes true.  Listed below are some of the reasons why, and just a few handy hints on how to turn your worst nightmare into the most romantic day of your life.

 Photographs

Rainy weather can enhance your wedding photographs.  Rainy weather can produce soft misty lighting, shiny surfaces and provides opportunity to use some romantic and captivating props.  Soft misty lighting produces an ethereal glow, rain drops on car windows and beading water on gates, fences and the foliage surrounding the location of your wedding day produce photographs that are completely stunning.  In fact we love the opportunity to show off our creativity and flair just after it stops raining.  Black and white photographs with glistening drops of water will add a uniqueness that will only reflect on your special day.   Please remember however, all photographs need to be taken cover or after the rain is over.

 Flowers and Make Up

On a cloudy, rainy day, your flowers will actually last longer.  On hot, sunny days your flowers may start to wilt in a matter of hours.  However if you have an overcast day your flowers will remain fresher longer.

The same goes for your makeup.  It is much easier to maintain your ‘face’ on a rainy day as your make up is less like to come off due to sweat, and you will not be as worried about a shiny face in your photos as there won’t be as much shine.

Remember to Stay Positive

There really are many positive aspects of rainy day nuptials.  The trick is to remain calm and positive.  And remember, if the Bride and Groom are relaxed and happy, then the guests will be relaxed and happy too.  Providing you with the perfect ingredients for a splendid wedding, come rain or shine.
